What to do in an Emergency Situation

Your first priority is to protect yourself and others. Do not enter the affected area unless it is safe and you are trained to respond.

Raise the Alarm

• Activate the site emergency alarm.

• Warn nearby personnel.

• Evacuate the area using the designated route.

• Do not attempt to clean up a major or uncontrolled spill.

Assist Exposed Persons

If someone has come into contact with the substance:

• Move them away from the danger, if safe to do so.

• Remove contaminated clothing carefully.

• Flush affected skin or eyes with plenty of water using the emergency shower or eyewash station.

• Follow the first-aid instructions in the Safety Data Sheet.

• Seek immediate medical assistance.

Do not put yourself at risk while helping another person.

Call Emergency Services

Provide the following information clearly:

• Your name and contact details.

• The exact location of the emergency.

• The type and approximate size of the spill.

• Whether anyone is injured or showing signs of exposure.

• The name and hazards of the substance involved, if known.

• Any fire, explosion or environmental risk.

Stay on the line and follow the instructions given by the emergency operator.
