Spillage Response Awareness Training

What to do in an Emergency Situation

  1. Head to the nearest emergency assembly point.
  2. Leave clear access for the emergency personnel.
  3. Ensure every person who was exposed stays together, in the same area. They should not be allowed to leave until they have been checked by the relevant authorities and medical personnel.
  4. If you have the time to do the following without placing yourself at risk, then do so:
    1. Close, but do not lock, doors behind you to isolate the area;
    2. Turn off, unplug, or remove potential sources of ignition;
    3. Contain the spilt material using berms, absorbent socks or other means;
    4. Place signs in prominent places to warn people the area is unsafe to enter.
